Beasiswa Luar Negeri 2011-2012 : Beasiswa Pascasarjana ke Swiss

KOMPAS.com - Pemerintah Swiss melalui Federal Commission for Scholarships for Foreign Students (FCS) menawarkan beasiswa untuk tahun akademik 2011/12. Beasiswa ini ditawarkan untuk para mahasiswa pascasarjana (postgraduate) yang ingin melakukan riset atau meraih gelar master di salah satu perguruan tinggi di Swiss.

Program beasiswa ini berlangsung selama 9 (sembilan) bulan atau 1 tahun akademik. Namun, dalam kondisi tertentu beasiswa dapat diperpanjang maksimal hingga tahun ajaran ke-2 sesuai dengan pertimbangan FCS dan perguruan tinggi yang bersangkutan.

Adapun beberapa program studi atau pendidikan yang tidak termasuk dalam tawaran beasiswa antara lain adalah Ilmu Kesenian, Pendidikan S-1, Pendidikan Sekolah Perhotelan, Pertukaran pelajar/mahasiswa, Part-time studies, On-the-job studies, atau Studi jarak jauh (correspondence course).

Bagi yang tertarik dengan program ini perlu mengetahui, bahwa jumlah beasiswa senilai CHF 1.920 per bulan (untuk biaya hidup). Harap diingat, bahwa tidak semua program pascasarjana dan perguruan tinggi di Swiss membebaskan penerima beasiswa dari biaya perkuliahan karena beasiswa ini hanya mencakup biaya hidup di Swiss.

Untuk itulah, setiap pelamar sangat perlu mengklarifikasi kepastian pembebasan uang kuliah untuk program studi yang dipilih dengan perguruan tinggi yang bersangkutan. Sementara biaya perjalanan dan asuransi penerima beasiswa dari Indonesia harus menanggung sendiri biaya perjalanan ke Swiss tersebut.

Pendaftaran beasiswa ini sudah dibuka dan pelamar harus sudah mengembalikan formulir pendaftaran yang dilampiri lengkap dengan dokumen-dokumen pendukung paling lambat pada 31 Oktober 2010 mendatang ke Kedutaan Besar Swiss (Bagian Kebudayaan) di Jl. H.R. Rasuna Said Kav. X3/2, Jakarta 12950.

Lotus is an Erasmus Mundus Action Two Partnership (EMA2) of European and South-East Asian Higher Education Institutions (HEI) and Associations aiming at fostering mutual enrichment and better understanding between the EU and South-East Asia (China, Vietnam, Cambodia, Myanmar, Indonesia, Thailand), through the exchange of persons, knowledge and skills at higher education level and to co-operate in the following program activities:

Beasiswa S2 : Hedley Bull Scholarship 2009 for Master in International Studies at ANU College of Asia and the Pacific

The Graduate Studies in International Affairs program offers up to
four Hedley Bull Scholarships each year for full-time study in the
Master of Arts (International Relations) commencing in semester one.
Applicants must meet the admission requirements of the Master of Arts
(International Relations).

When applying for the MA (International Relations), eligible
applicants for the Hedley Bull Scholarship should include a covering
letter indicating their interest in being considered for the
scholarship and making the case for being granted one. The covering
letter together with the application for the MA (International
Relations) (including transcripts and three academic references) will
be considered as the full application for the scholarship. There is no
need to provide a separate application. The scholarship provides a
full-fee waiver for three full-time sessions (semesters). This amounts
to 48 units of graduate coursework and a 24-unit thesis session.

Closing date for receipt of complete application for scholarship: 30 October 2009

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

MA (International Relations) (MAIR)

Master of International Affairs (MIA)

Applicants for the MAIR and MIA should normally have obtained at least
second class honours, division A, in their Australian bachelor degree,
or the equivalent in a degree from other countries. The degree should
normally be in any discipline of the social sciences or the humanities.
'Equivalence' may be met by a very good four-year bachelor degree, a
very good graduate diploma, or a very good three-year bachelor degree
and substantial relevant work experience demonstrating a capacity for
analysis and research. As a guide, 'very good' normally refers to an
A/B+ average and above, or distinction average and above.

Graduate Diploma in International Affairs (GDIA)

Applicants for the GDIA require a 'very good' bachelor degree. Although
a degree in the social sciences would be an advantage, degrees in other
areas will be considered.

English Language Requirements

International applicants should note that the University requires
evidence of an adequate standard of English. Unless undergraduate
studies were undertaken in Australia, Canada (if English was the
language of instruction) , New Zealand, the UK or the USA, international
students will normally be required to produce evidence of one of the
following:
* a verification of a tertiary degree of at least two years conducted entirely in English.
* an IELTS overall band score of 6.5 together with a score of at least 6.0 in all components

* a minimum TOEFL score of: 570 (old system); 230 (new system) and a
Test of Written English (TWE) score of 4.5; or 90 (internet-based) ,
with a minimum of 20 in all four sections. (You should check with the
Australian Diplomatic Mission in your country whether TOEFL is accepted

Sesuai dengan Keputusan Pemerintah Federasi Rusia tentang penerimaan
mahasiswa asing di perguruan tinggi Rusia, maka pada tahun ajaran
2009/2010 Pemerintah Federasi Rusia memberikan 30 beasiswa bagi warga
negara Republik Indonesia. Dengan jenjang, persyaratan dan bidang
studi sebagai berikut.

1. Jenjang

Beasiswa diberikan untuk Jenjang S-1 (Bachelor) dan S-2 (Magister)
sebanyak 25 beasiswa. Sedangkan untuk Jenjang S-3 (Kandidatura) ,
Post-Doktoral (Doktorantura) dan Penelitian/Pelatiha n (Stazhirovka)
sebanyak 5 beasiswa.

3. Perguruan Tinggi dan Proses Belajar

Perguruan Tinggi/Universitas tujuan belajar terdapat di kota-kota di
seluruh Federasi Rusia. Penempatan penerima beasiswa ditentukan oleh
Pemerintah Federasi Rusia.

Proses belajar-mengajar diselenggarakan dalam bahasa Rusia. Untuk itu
selama 1 (satu) tahun semua penerima beasiswa program studi S-1 dan
S-2 akan belajar di Fakultas Persiapan (Preparatory Faculty) untuk
mempelajari bahasa Rusia dan mata pelajaran yang sesuai dengan
jurusan/program studi yang telah dipilih.

Bagi Penerima beasiswa Jenjang S-3, Doktorantura dan
penelitian/pelatiha n akan mempelajari bahasa Rusia selama proses
belajar (tidak melalui Fakultas Persiapan).

4. Persyaratan

Untuk Jenjang S-1 dan S-2:

· Para pelamar beasiswa harus memiliki ijazah Sekolah Menengah SMU
yang setara dengan ijazah SMU Rusia dengan nilai untuk mata pelajaran
pokok/sesuai dengan spesialisasi yang akan dipilih tidak lebih rendah
dari 80% tingkat maksimalnya (Nilai Rata-rata 8,0). Untuk mata
pelajaran lainnya juga harus bernilai baik (tidak ada angka merah).
(Untuk Jenjang S-2 harus memiliki ijasah S-1 dengan IPK
sekurang-kurangnya 2,50);

· Kurun waktu antara tamat Sekolah Menengah/SMU (atau lembaga
pendidikan pra-perguruan tinggi lainnya) dengan saat pendaftaran
beasiswa ini harus tidak melampaui 3 tahun.

· Usia para calon untuk S-1 hendaknya tidak lebih dari 25 tahun dan
S-2 tidak lebih dari 30 tahun.

Untuk Jenjang S-3, Penelitian, Post Doktoral:

· Calon Penerima beasiswa Jenjang S-3 harus berpendidikan
berpendidikan tinggi setingkat M.Sc./M.A.,

· mempunyai pengalaman kerja yang sesuai dengan spesialisasinya;

· usia hendaknya tidak melampaui 35 tahun.

5. Berkas Lamaran

Berkas lamaran lengkap diserahkan langsung ke Bagian Kebudayaan
Kedutaan Besar Federasi Rusia – Pusat Ilmu Pengetahuan dan Kebudayaan
Rusia (Jl. Diponegoro, 12, Menteng, Jakarta Pusat, telp./fax:
31935290) sebelum tanggal 20 Maret 2009.

Berkas surat lamaran dimasukkan ke dalam Map/Amplop Kuning (untuk
S-1), Merah (untuk S-2) dan Hijau (Untuk S-3/Penelitian) harus dengan
isi dan urutan sebagai berikut:

1. Application Form dalam Bahasa Inggris

2. Fotokopi ijazah/sertifikat dari tingkat pendidikan yang
bersangkutan beserta transkrip nilainya dan terjemahannya dalam Bahasa
Inggris yang telah dilegalisir oleh Notaris;

3. Surat keterangan bahwa calon telah mengikuti tes kesehatan dan
tidak mempunyai hambatan dalam menghadapi iklim Rusia dalam Bahasa
Inggris dan telah dilegalisir oleh Instansi yang berwenang;

4. Surat keterangan bebas HIV/AIDS yang telah dilegalisir oleh
Instansi yang berwenang;

5. Fotokopi Akta Kelahiran dan terjemahannya dalam Bahasa Inggris yang
telah dilegalisir oleh Notaris;

6. Fotokopi lembar pertama Paspor RI dengan data-data calon penerima
beasiswa (untuk mengisi formulir bagi visa),

7. Sepuluh lembar pasfoto ukuran 4 x 6 cm.

Untuk pelamar Jenjang S-3 sekaligus harus menyerahkan daftar judul
publikasinya (jikalau ada) dan referat singkat (proposal singkat)
maksimal 2 halaman tentang tema penelitian ilmiah untuk studi S-3-nya
rangkap 2 (dalam bahasa Indonesia dan Inggris). Bagi lulusan perguruan
tinggi Rusia harus membuat proposal dalam bahasa Indonesia dan Bahasa
Rusia.

6. Lain-lain

Segala hal menyangkut kedatangan dan domisili keluarga penerima
beasiswa tidak menjadi tanggungan perguruan tinggi dimana mahasiswa
belajar.

Penerima beasiswa S-1 dan S-2 harus sudah berada di Rusia terhitung
sejak tanggal 1 s/d 15 September 2009, penerima beasiswa untuk S-3 dan
pelatihan/training – sebelum tanggal 1 Desember 2009.

Fellowship at UNFPA Special Youth Programme

The Special Youth Programme fellowship consists of an initial 4.5 months
fellowship at UNFPA Headquarters, New York, followed - upon satisfactory
performance - by a continued fellowship of another 4.5 months in the UNFPA
Regional Office or Country Office in the region / country of the fellow.

UNFPA is currently recruiting for a group of fellows to start their
fellowships in April/May.

Objective
This programme is designed to give young people from developing countries
opportunities to engage in policy development and programming; to help build
the capacity of young people; and to sensitize both the young people and
UNFPA staff on partnering to address adolescent and youth issues.

During the course of the programme, fellows will:

Attend and participate in UNFPA and UN events and meetings as
appropriate

Undertake research and writing assignments
*
Contribute to ongoing projects and programmes
*
Organize a final presentation to UNFPA HQ staff on their projects and
fellowships in Headquarters
*
Interact with the New York local youth community on at least one

Develop a relationship with the Regional and Country Office and

A new EU-scholarship opportunity has become available for residents in South-East Asia (for list of eligable countries, see below)

We are very pleased to announce that ITC was selected to be a European Partner in this so-called EMMA programme (Erasmus Mundus Mobility with Asia)

ITC - the International Institute for Geo-Information Science and Earth Observation - offers courses in Applied Earth Sciences (including disaster studies e.g. floods, landslides, earthquakes) , water resource management, natural resources, urban planning, earth opbeservation and geo-information science.

The EMMA program profides funding opportunities for students, researchers and academic staff to take part in 'mobilities' between the target group countries and the EU. The programme offers study scholarships to attend courses at Master of Science level, pursue PhDs, Post Doctoral research and to facilitate academic staff exchange.

The Werner Reichardt Centre for Integrative Neuroscience (CIN) is a newly established interdisciplinary institution at the Eberhard Karls University Tübingen funded by the German Excellence Initiative program.
Highly motivated and enthusiastic applicants are invited for PhD research positions in CIN to explore the molecular and cellular processes underlying senses of touch and pain.

Although mechanosensation might be the most ancient of our five senses, touch and mechanical pain remain the least understood of the vertebrate sensory transduction events both at cellular and molecular level. In order to investigate the molecular and cellular nature of mechanosensation, electrophysiology techniques, calcium imaging, cell culture techniques and immunofluorescence staining, confocal laser scanning microscopy, electron microscopy and standard techniques of molecular cell biology will be employed.

Applicants are expected to be enthusiastic about working in an interdisciplinary and challenging research area, and should be highly motivated. In addition, applicants with a background in neuroscience or biophysics are highly encouraged to apply.

Introduction: The Arete Initiative at the University of Chicago is

of Virtues. This is a multidisciplinary research initiative that seeks

within the humanities and the sciences. We support highly original,
scholarly projects that demonstrate promise of a distinctive
contribution to virtue research and have the potential to begin a new
field of interdisciplinary study.

Eligibility: The selection criteria by which the Council will evaluate

proposal to generate ground-breaking results in the study of virtues.
To ascertain the likely success of the researcher, they will also be

The Asia Research Institute of NUS invites applications from citizens
of Asian countries enrolled for a fulltime advanced degree at a
university in an Asian country (except Singapore) for consideration
for the award of Asian Graduate Student Fellowships. These
fellowships are offered to current graduate students doing their
Master's or PhD degrees and working in the Humanities and Social
Sciences on Southeast Asian topics, and will allow the recipients to
be based at NUS for an `in residence fellowship' for a period of
three months. The aim of the fellowship is to enable scholars to
make full use of the wide range of resources held in the libraries of
NUS and the Institute of Southeast Asian Studies. Scholars will be
expected to commence on 4 May 2009, and to make a presentation on
their work at the Singapore Graduate Forum on Southeast Asian Studies
at the end of July 2009.

Introduction of the Research topic/ background (300 words)
In the past decades the RCT has been viewed as the paradigm study design to determine the intended effects of drug interventions. In addition RCTs are important to assess type A (i.e. more common, predictable) unintended effects of drugs. Typically these RCTs are executed in three phases during a period of 10 years prior to drug registration.
Currently, trials are not designed, conducted and analysed in the most efficient and expeditious manner and several improvements in the design, conduct and analysis phase could lead to increased efficiency.
For example, prevention of losses to follow-up and incomplete data, and sophisticated methods to impute missing values if they occur can increase the effective sample size. Sophisticated methods to indicate when there is enough information to stop the trial can shorten the duration of the trial and decrease the number of patients to be included. By using information of earlier trials when analysing a new trial, evidence of efficacy of a drug might be available earlier and less trials have to be performed.

Research Questions (200 words)
How can the design, conduct and analysis of randomized controlled trials on drug effects be improved?

Methods (300 words)
Improvements in design phase:
Review of the literature summarizing different strategies to select patient populations, to perform sample size estimations and to conduct randomisation and blinding, and analysing which of these different strategies are most effective. This review can then be used to formulate a recommendation on designing RCTs. Comparison of existing and development of new statistical methods to analyze composite endpoints using empirical data.

Improvements in conduct phase:
Review of the literature on different strategies to recruit and follow-up study participants and summarizing different strategies to improve and monitor compliance. This information is used to analyse which strategies are most effective and to formulate a recommendation on improving conduct of RCTs. Comparison of different methods and strategies, for example conventional and Bayesian analyses, to stop trials early, using empirical data of already performed trials.

Improvements in analysis phase:
Comparison of different imputation methods of increasing complexity for random and non-random missing values due to `lost-to-follow- up` and incomplete collection of data. Empirical data of trials will be used to compare these different methods. Comparison and application of different meta-analytical (Bayesian) techniques to analyse data of a trial using data from previously performed trials. Comparison and application of different meta-analytical (Bayesian) techniques to pool phase III and IV studies.

research areas (microbial communities, interactions with plant, animal

Theories developed within computer science have been, and still are,

with shared resources, with attention to the problems of security,
concurrency, real time, "open endness", distributed decisions, etc.
has fostered the development of the informatics of the new wide area
networks. Students acquire extensive knowledge of the fundamentals and
applications of architectures and languages for global and grid
computing, web systems and services, in particular for business
applications, embedded systems, web data mining, wired and wireless
networks, and mobile systems. In addition to offering broad scope for
basic research, these domains define a professional area where all the
needs of computer applications on wide are networks can find their
fulfilment.

Economics, Markets, Institutions
With its interdisciplinary (theoretical, quantitative and
institutional) approach, the program aims at dealing with issues in
political economy, applied public economics, and the functioning of
industries and markets, the impact of macroeconomic impact on the
functioning of markets, as well as on productivity and growth.
A distinctive character of the PhD program is the strong integration
of theoretical, technical and practical expertise, aimed to educate
highly qualified professionals, who analyze, plan, and manage concrete
interventions of political economy.
Theoretical methodologies and models will therefore tested through the
methodical/systemat ic investigation of actual cases. At the end of the
program, students will be able to catch commonalities as well as
distinctive characters of the several markets, in reference to
economic laws, market regulations, contractual, managing and
organizational solutions.

Political Systems and Institutional Change
The PhD Program aims to make students familiar with analytical tools
and methodologies of investigation elaborated within different
contemporary traditions in social sciences, thereby providing the
theoretical and practical knowledge necessary to both evaluate
comparatively the performance of institutional systems, and elaborate
proposals for structural reforms. The courses will especially focus on
the historical, political, institutional and economic dynamics that
have been characterising the development of European and ex Soviet
countries after the Second Word War. They will then consider among
other topics: the institutional and decisional dynamics of European
countries and the European Union including the trends towards
multilevel governance both at the European and at the domestic level
(federalisation, independent regulatory authorities, etc.);
transatlantic relations EU-US; relations between politics, social
processes and political economy decisions; paths of economic and
political development; the institutional workings of international
organisations; the characters of some geographical areas of special
relevance.
Duration: 3 years

Language: Courses and seminars are held in English. Foreign PhD
students are required to attend an Italian Language and Culture Course.
Classes begin in March 2009.

Tuition Exemptions :PhD students are exempt from tuition and fees.
Annual Scholarship: Annual scholarship amount is +/- 13.638,00 Euros
gross, corresponding to +/- 2.270,00 Euros gross paid every two
months. Scholarships are awarded for three years and are confirmed yearly.

Scholarships benefit from tax breaks.

One scholarship for each PhD Program is co-financed by European Union
– European Social Fund; Ministero del Lavoro, della Salute e delle
Politiche Sociali; Regione Toscana and IMT.

MISSION STATEMENT
The Indian Ocean tsunami of 26 December 2004 caused more than 200,000 deaths and inflicted multi-billion dollar damage on infrastructure. The death toll of the Pakistan earthquake in 2005 is estimated at over 70,000. Asian countries are becoming increasingly vulnerable to various types of disasters including landslides, floods, droughts, forest fires, typhoons and man-made hazards. But, they have displayed very limited capacity in terms of their knowledge base, skills training, long-term planning, emergency preparedness and policy development to respond to such disasters.

The aim of this new academic program is to instill the necessary interdisciplinary capacities to manage and minimize the effects of disasters in people on the front lines of disaster response and preparedness. Upon completion of the program, graduates will have gained a profound scientific understanding of natural and man-made disasters. They will be able to assess risks properly; to construct disaster management plans using appropriate tools and techniques; and, to apply suitable measures to mitigate risk. They will possess the skills necessary for handling complex emergency situations and to communicate with various stakeholders and policy makers on issues associated with disaster preparedness, mitigation and management. Given these skills and expertise, program graduates will be ready to play a leading role in protecting Asia`s large populations from the full force of a rising tide of disasters

The MRC Centre for Genomics and Global Health is developing a unique PhD programme that will provide interdisciplinary training in statistical genetics, bioinformatics and population genetics, and the opportunity to apply these skills to cutting edge research on major diseases of the developing world.

Four studentships are available to start in October 2008. They will be based at Oxford University but students will be encouraged to develop collaborative research projects at the Centre's partner institutions at the MRC Laboratories in The Gambia, the KEMRI - Wellcome Trust Research Programme in Kenya, the Wellcome Trust Programme in South-east Asia and the Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute in the UK. Each studentship covers full course fees and research costs, together with an annual stipend (currently £12,600 per annum).

Candidates from all countries are eligible to apply for the studentships. Applications are particularly encouraged from talented candidates from the regions where the Centre operates in Africa and Asia.

The funding is for 4 years. The first year of the programme will be tailored to the individual's background and will involve taught courses linked to the new Oxford doctoral training programme in Genomic Medicine. There may also be opportunities to take modules from the MSc in Applied Statistics or the MSc in Bioinformatics. During the first year students will be able to develop their research focus by working alongside the Centre's Informatics Fellows in The Gambia, Kenya, Viet Nam or Thailand.

After completing the first year's training, students will undertake a research project linked to one or more of the Centre's partner institutions. They will typically have two supervisors, at Oxford University and at the partner institution. The aim is to encourage students to work on multi-centre collaborative projects, and to use the PhD training programme to build capacity across a wider research network.

A Research Studentship position is available on an EPSRC funded research project in the study of interacting turbulent flames using DNS and laser diagnostics. This project involves collaboration with Rolls-Royce Plc. and Siemens Industrial Turbomachinery Ltd. in the UK. The main aim of the project is to develop close understanding of interacting turbulent premixed flames using Direct Numerical Simulation (DNS) methodology and laser diagnostics. The interacting flames are one of the fundamental root cause for "noisy" combustion, but this is still a terra incognita for modelling. The research student will be involved in the experimental part of the project but there will be constant interaction between the experimental and computational parts. The Ph.D student will work closely with one of investigators and will be using state of the art multi-scalar imaging and particle image velocimetry (PIV) facilities available in the Engineering Department.

The successful candidate will have a first class degree in Mechanical/Aerospac e/Chemical engineering. Applications from overseas students will also be considered. Funding, covering all fees and maintenance will be available for the three years. The studentship will commence from 1st October 2008.

Program description
The program is targeted to candidates from countries on the DAC list
of ODA Recipients (Official Development Assistance) with the
objective of promoting democratic, economic and social development
through supporting know-how and transfer of knowledge to researchers
and advanced students within areas in which Sweden is at the
forefront of academic research.
For applicants from advanced or developed countries the objective of
the scholarship is to enhance relations between institutions and
individuals in Sweden with their counterparts in other countries.

Target groups
The program provides PhD students/researcher s with an excellent
opportunity to conduct research at Swedish universities within all
fields of study. PhD students are divided into two categories: The
first category consists of students/candidates applying for a
consecutive visit as part of their PhD-studies at the home
university. The second category consists of students/candidates
applying for a scholarship according to the sandwich model (several
shorter visits).

Holders of a PhD degree from 2003 or later applying for a post-doc
research visit to a Swedish university.

Master level students from ODA Countries will be given an opportunity
to attend qualified programs. A complete list of eligible Master
Level programs can be found on "How to apply" below.
A few scholarships are also reserved for short term visits for
students/researcher s of the Swedish language and literature.

Who is eligible?
The scholarships are intended for guest students or researchers
belonging to any of the above mentioned target groups for temporary
studies/research in Sweden. Students from the Nordic countries
(Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Iceland and Norway) are not eligible to
apply for the scholarship. Students from Belarus, Estonia, Latvia,
Lithuania, Poland, Russia and Ukraine should apply to the Visby
Programme.
You are not eligible for this scholarship if any of the following is
true:
• You have already lived in Sweden for two years or more when
the scholarship period is due to begin.
• You have a Swedish permanent residence permit.
• You have a Swedish work permit and you are not an EU citizen.

There is no age limit for scholarship holders. You need, however, to
be fluent in English and you must apply for full-time studies or
research.

Students/researcher s previously awarded a scholarship from the SI for
study or research at a Swedish university will not be given priority.

Scholarship benefits and limitations
The scholarship amounts to SEK 8 000 per month for students/PhD
researchers and SEK 12 000 per month for post doc researchers
(holders of a PhD degree).

Travel grants
Scholarship holders from ODA-countries may receive a travel support
in connection with the scholarship. The travel grant is a lump sum,
given only once, regardless of the cost of travel.
Citizens of Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Macedonia,
Moldova, Montenegro, Serbia and Turkey receive 3000 SEK.
Citizens from remaining ODA-countries receive 8000 SEK.
PhD-students with a sandwich-set up will be granted travel grants in
connection with every approved visit to Sweden.
Citizens/PhD- students with a sandwich-set up from Albania, Bosnia and
Herzegovina, Croatia, Macedonia, Moldova, Montenegro, Serbia and
Turkey receive 2000 SEK.
Citizens/PhD- students with a sandwich-set up from remaining ODA-
countries receive 6000 SEK.

Insurance
Scholarship holders are insured by the Swedish State Group Insurance
against illness and accident during the scholarship period. For
citizens of EU member states and other Convention countries the
insurance applies with certain limitations.

Scholarship limitations
The scholarship is designed to cover the living costs for the
scholarship holder. There are no grants for family members. No bench
fee is provided.
The granted scholarship period cannot be shortened, altered or
extended. If you wish to apply for subsequent funding you must apply
within a new call for applications.

LATAR BELAKANG

UU Nomor 20 Tahun 2003 tentang Sistem Pendidikan Nasional, dan Permen Nomor 42 Tahun 2007 tentang Sertifikasi Dosen, mewajibkan dosen harus memiliki strata pendidikan minimal satu tingkat lebih tinggi dari para mahasiswa yang diajarnya. Hal ini disebabkan karena Dosen merupakan SDM perguruan tinggi yang memiliki peran yang sangat sentral dan strategis dalam seluruh aktivitas di perguruan tinggi. Tinggi-rendahnya kualitas dosen akan sangat menentukan tinggi-rendahnya kualitas suatu perguruan tinggi.

Untuk memberikan kesempatan studi lanjut, Pemerintah menyediakan dana BPPS bagi dosen untuk melanjutkan studinya di program Pascasarjana Dalam Negeri. Namun, untuk lebih meningkatkan kualitas dosen berskala internasional, mulai tahun 2008, Direktorat Ketenagaan Ditjen Dikti sebagai unit yang mempunyai tugas dalam pembinaan, pelatihan dan pengembangan tenaga akademik, menyediakan beasiswa untuk studi lanjut S-2 dan S-3 di luar negeri.

DESKRIPSI

Program beasiswa S2/S3 Luar Negeri yang disediakan oleh Ditjen Dikti ini :
1. Merupakan beasiswa yang berasal dari APBN.
2. Bersifat terbuka untuk semua dosen tetap Perguruan Tinggi, baik PTN maupun PTS di Indonesia.
3. Lama pemberian beasiswa adalah maksimum 3 tahun untuk program S-3 dan 2 tahun untuk program S-2.
4. Komponen biaya yang dapat diberikan meliputi:
- uang kuliah (tuition fee);
- biaya hidup untuk penerima beasiswa (tidak termasuk keluarganya) ;
- tiket pesawat pergi-pulang dari dan ke bandara internasional terakhir;
- asuransi kesehatan;
- biaya buku;
- biaya kedatangan di negara lain (settling allowance);
- biaya persiapan keberangkatan (visa, cek kesehatan, paspor, fiskal);
- biaya kelebihan bagasi kepulangan;
- biaya program khusus (seminar);
- biaya penelitian atau penulisan tugas akhir;
- biaya pendaftaran ke universitas.
5. Besaran beasiswa disesuaikan dengan kondisi di negara-negara tujuan.
6. Pengalokasian beasiswa “Program Beasiswa Pascasarjana Luar Negeri” (PBPLN) Ditjen Dikti dilakukan melalui Pimpinan Perguruan Tinggi (Rektor untuk PTN, dan Pimpinan Kopertis untuk PTS) dari masing-masing calon penerima beasiswa. Untuk itu, Pimpinan PT/Kopertis menyelenggarakan kontrak kerja dengan Dirjen Dikti.
7. Jika sebagian program kegiatan studi penerima beasiswa dilakukan di Indonesia (misalnya dalam pelaksanaan penelitian), maka besaran biaya hidup selama di Indonesia akan dibayarkan menggunakan standard BPPS.
8. Untuk mempermudah proses administrasi, peserta dianjurkan untuk memulai program studi pada Semester yang dimulai pada bulan September.

PERSYARATAN CALON

Syarat melamar beasiswa:
1. Sudah memperoleh Letter of Acceptance yang masih berlaku dari Institusi dan/atau calon pembimbing dari Perguruan Tinggi luar negeri yang berkualitas (diutamakan dari Perguruan Tinggi Negara maju).
2. Mengisi Form A
3. Usia ketika melamar maksimum 50 tahun.
4. Melampirkan copy ijazah dan transkrip (IPK) S1/S2 yang telah dilegalisasi.
5. Melampirkan copy sertifikat bukti kemampuan Bahasa Inggris (TOEFL institusional 500, IELTS 6,0) atau bahasa asing lainnya sesuai dengan ketentuan dari perguruan tinggi tujuan masing-masing (yang masih berlaku).

ustralian Postgraduate Award (Industry) - Human Oöcytes (ova) for Stem Cell Research: Donation and Regulation in Australia This scholarship is funded by an ARC Linkage-Projects grant and will provide support for 3 years on a full-time basis for a research project leading to a PhD.

The objective of the research project is to explore the bioethics of research oöcyte donation for Australian stem cell research. Research will involve policy analysis, interviews with oöcyte donors, clinical and scientific staff and other stakeholders as well as bioethically informed social analysis of the issue. The aim of the project is both to produce scholarly research and to develop a socially sustainable, bioethically sound approach to somatic cell nuclear transfer research in Australia.

The successful applicant will be supervised by A/Professor Catherine Waldby, International Research Fellow in the Department of Sociology and Social Policy and A/Professor Ian Kerridge, director of the Centre for Values, Ethics and Law in Medicine (VELIM), Sydney University.

Applicants should have an Honours 1 or 2A degree in social science, gender studies, science studies or bioethics and have some experience with empirical qualitative research. Experience with research in clinical settings and knowledge of stem cell research would be an advantage.

Applicants must be Australian citizens, Australian permanent residents or New Zealand citizens. The scholarship stipend is $26, 140 p.a. in 2008 (tax exempt), and the position will begin in July 2008. The Irish Research Council for Science, Engineering & Technology invites applications for funding from intending postgraduate researchers under the Embark Postgraduate Research Scholarship Scheme (2008).

This first call in the 2008 programme will fund up to 165 Masters or Doctorate level researchers in the sciences, engineering and technology. The scheme is open to candidates worldwide with a number of scholarships also being available to exceptional candidates from non EU member states. A number of additional scholarships will be jointly funded by industry as part of IRCSET Enterprise Partnership Scheme (see below for details).

The University of Trento (Italy), the RWTH Aachen University (Germany),
and the University of Edinburgh (Scotland) offer a two year Joint
Master's Programme, named European Master in Informatics (EuMI,

educate professionals who will understand advanced techniques, tools,
and methodologies in the field of Computer Science, and who will be

to put this knowledge to practice in the key application domains of
Net-Centric/Media Informatics, Life Science Informatics, and Embedded

For each area of specialization, a joint curriculum is defined which
involves two universities of the Consortium. The student admitted to a
selected curriculum will study in two universities, taking courses with
a focus on the selected area of specialization. The student will spend
half of his/her Master's course in one university and the other half in

RICHMOND, Va.— Fellowships for travel and accommodation are available for scholars of Islamic art to attend Rivers of Paradise: Water in Islamic Art and Culture at VCU’s Qatar campus Nov. 4-6, 2007.

The Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development and the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Arts are offering 15 Hamad Bin Khalifa travel fellowships.

The Hamad Bin Khalifa Symposium on Islamic Art strives to foster the development of an international community of researchers and scholars in Islamic art and cultures. The fellowship provides financial support for conference attendance and recognition of scholars from diverse geographic and cultural areas, including those from the less developed and less well-funded countries.

Many scholars, who more characteristically conduct research for years with minimal support, are having a hard time believing that these generous fellowships are merely to attend the symposium, and not to present papers, as is usual with travel fellowships.

Thirteen speakers from around the world from a variety of disciplines will explore the theme of water in the Islamic lands from southern Europe to South Asia from the 7th century to the present. Topics range from the supply and distribution of water to its role in religion and popular culture.

Attendance at the Rivers of Paradise: Water in Islamic Art and Culture Symposium in Doha, Qatar is an opportunity for advanced students and other scholars from around the world to meet and interact with one another. The fellowship will also allow students and scholars to visit Doha, one of the fastest-growing Islamic Art centers in the Middle East.

Sheila S. Blair and Jonathan M. Bloom, shared holders of the Hamad bin Khalifa Endowed Chair of Islamic Art at VCU and the Norma Jean Calderwood University Chair of Islamic and Asian Art at Boston College, and curators of the acclaimed current exhibition of Islamic art Cosmophilia, are convening the conference.

"Popular Islam" focuses on encouraging researchers to examine ways in which Islamic beliefs and practices reach all believers and are reflected through various means of religious. communication such as studying Khutbah in local mosques, reading Islamic booklets, and/ or listening to Muslim radio programs. The question of how Islam can shape and influence, while at the same time is being shaped by, the lives of ordinary Southeast Asian Muslims in various local contexts is just one aspect of this topic that could be analyzed.

Globalization and Identity Politics

Muslim communities in Southeast Asia are not immune from globalization processes. New forms of economic and political integration on a world scale and the accelerated flows of goods, people and information across the globe all create new opportunities and challenges for Muslims in the region. The interaction of global and regional forces with local processes has been perceived both as a threat to Muslim identities and as beneficial to the development of a new transnational Islam. This research theme seeks to explore how Muslim identities in Southeast Asia are formed and shaped by regional and globalizing forces.

Islam and Changing Gender Realities

Rapidly evolving social, cultural and economic processes are leading to unprecedented changes in the societal roles of men and women. Muslim communities in Southeast Asia are being confronted with a diversity of values and lifestyles expressing multiple definitions of gender roles and relationships not always in line with dominant values. This research area encourages researchers to examine how gender roles in both the public and private sphere are changing for Muslims in Southeast Asia and relate those changes to current theological and political debates.

Islam Values, Economic Activities and Social Responsibilities

Studies in this area should examine how Islamic values and institutions can provide alternative economic options to those perceived as condradictory to Qur`anic principles such as riba. Area of focus could include identifying how Islamic economic values work in a modern business environment, analysis of indigenous entrepreneurial models that have been or can be utilized for local level empowerment and/ or studies of the lives of entrepreneurs and the ways Islamic values shape and are re-shaped by their economic activities and social responsibilities.

Eligibility

Candidates must be nationals of Southeast Asian countries, hold at least a Bachelor degree and should not be over 40 years of age.
Candidates may work in different sectors including academia, media, and non-governmental organizations. Candidate must be highly motivated to deepen their understanding of Islam in the region.
Women are strongly encouraged to apply.

Fellowship Value

The fellowship consists of an average research grant of $5,000 to cover all research costs for a maximum period of six months in the original country of resercher, and funded participation in mentoring workshops.
The Secretariat will arrange for editing, publication and distribution of the report in a "work in progress" series.

To apply for this fellowship program, candidates need to submit a complete research proposal. Proposed research projects should include sufficient details so that it can be judged for its merit and feasibility.

Program Management

The fellowship program is managed by the AMAN secretariat, which is housed at the Asian Resource Foundation (ARF) in Bangkok, Thailand.
AMAN was established in 1990 with the goal of building understanding and solidarity among Muslims and with other faith communities in Asia towards people`s empowerment, human rights, justice and peace. The Swiss Government through the Federal Commission for Scholarships for Foreign Students (FCS) grants a limited number of scholarships to developing countries, among which Indonesia is included. These scholarships are offered to Indonesian POSTGRADUATE students wishing to study at a Swiss university. The aim of the scholarship is to enable grantees either to further their education or to undertake research work in the fields in which the universities are particularly active. The intended study should be useful for the development in Indonesia. In principle, the scholarship holders can study at any national Swiss university or Federal Institute of Technology. The candidates should take into account the possibilities offered by Swiss universities.

Following programs are not included in this scholarship:
1. Fine arts and music
2. Undergraduate studies
3. Hotel management studies
4. Student exchange programs
5. Part-time studies
6. On-the-job studies
7. Correspondence studies

The duration of grant is for nine-month academic year. Under certain conditions, which are justified by FCS and the related university, the scholarship may be renewed.

CONDITIONS

Candidates must be under 35 years old when applying

Sufficient knowledge of one of the official languages in Switzerland (i.e. German, French or Italian), depending on the location of chosen university, and English for some courses. Each candidates will have to undergo a language test at the Swiss Embassy in Jakarta in order to determine the oral and written language ability. Note: It is a general requirement that applicants must have proficient knowledge of one of the official languages spoken in Switzerland. In principle this requirement still applies to applicants with good English abilities and also if the intended study program will be held in English. The applicant should fully benefit from the offered scholarship. Without knowledge of one of the national languages it will be difficult to handle daily situations (foreign police, post office, bank, university life, etc). A qualified applicant whose language proficiency is considered inadequate may still be granted a scholarship. This, however, will be subject to the applicant’s attendance of a special three months’ intensive language course at the University of Fribourg. The FCS will also cover the expenses for these courses, which usually start in mid-July.

Acceptance letter from the chosen university. Before applying the candidates need to contact the professor or director of the postgraduate program at the chosen educational institution in order to get a written confirmation of acceptance which must be submitted when filing the application. The request of the acceptance letter must be completed with a detailed and precise plan of the intended postgraduate study program, curriculum vitae and certified copies of the university diplomas (including transcripts). A certified translation is required if the originals are not issued in English, German, French or Italian.

Detailed study/research plan describing clearly and precisely the aim of study. The possibilities offered by the Swiss universities should be taken into account, also the possibilities of professional reintegration when returning to Indonesia

CHF 1.920,- for post-graduate students
CHF 4.800,- for the three-months language course in Fribourg

Please note that the scholarship recipients are exempt from the general semester fees but NOT for certain postgraduate courses as for example MBA-programms (which can reach thousands of CHF). The grant covers only living expenses in Switzerland.

TRAVEL EXPENSES AND INSURANCE

Recipients from Indonesia pay their own travel expenses to Switzerland, but the Federal Commission for Scholarships for Foreign Students (FCS) pays the return ticket (except for familiy members). The return travel will not be offered if grantees extend their stay in Switzerland beyond six months after completion of their studies, or if they take up employment or move to a third country.

Health insurance (except for dental care) and accident insurance are provided.

OBLIGATIONS OF A SCHOLARSHIP HOLDER

Scholarship holders must live in Switzerland at the study place and must comply with the laws concerning the residence of foreigners in Switzerland and the university regulations. The scholarship holders cannot take family members to Switzerland in the first year of study but they may visit Switzerland on their own costs as a tourist.

When accepting the scholarship, candidates may have to give their written agreement to return to Indonesia after completion of the scholarship in Switzerland.

Scholarships of the FCS cannot be cumulated with other scholarships. If the scholarship holders have another scholarship or another financial support (salary), they are not entitled to be granted a Swiss scholarship.

On the topic of reasoning and formal argumentation in the field of trust management

Reasoning about trust is a process that often involves the application of rules of thumb, general guidelines or argument and counterargument. During recent years, the field of formal argumentation has produced a range of formalisms, as well as software implementations, to deal with issues such as nonmonotonic reasoning, decision making and agent communication. In this context, the University of Luxembourg is currently setting up a research project (Advanced Argumentation Techniques for Trust Management, AASTM) to apply the approach of formal argumentation to the issue of trust management.

The work consists of two parts:

-The formation of a formal theory on argumentation for trust management

-An implementation of this formal theory as set of software components

Requirements:

-M. Sc in Computer Science, artificial intelligence or mathematics (no older than 5 years)

-Strong programming skills

-Although a background on formal argumentation is not necessary, candidates should preferably be familiar with various forms of formal logic and theoretical computer science.

The University offers a Scholarship to suitably qualified applicants
wishing to pursue research leading to PhD status under the supervision
of leading researchers in one of the fields indicated below. The
research programmes will be integrated with training in accordance
with Research Council specifications and accredited to the level of
additional qualifications (Postgraduate Masters, Certificate and
Diploma in Research Training).

Competition+announcement/

The Eni Corporate University announces a competition for an academic
course that leads to a Master's Degree in Energy and Environmental
Management and Economics - MEDEA. The course is organized and
managed by the Scuola Enrico Mattei.

The Master is offered to Italian and foreign university graduates
that are interested in career paths within firms, authorities and
other institutions operating in the energy and environmental
sectors. For the Academic Year 2007-2008, the Scuola Enrico Mattei
will assign a maximum of 50 scholarships.

Three programs of the MEDEA are offered:

Energy Industry Economics
Business Administration in Energy Industry
Managing Technical Assets in Energy Industry

The program is articulated on three phases, with an increasing
degree of specialisation. All profiles consist of preliminary
courses, followed by fundamental courses and by specialisation
classes.

The Academic Year runs for ten months, from September 5, 2007
through to June 27, 2008. Full-time attendance is required. Since
courses are conducted in Italian and in English, an intensive
Italian language course will be held during the summer of 2007.
Those who have successfully completed the programme of study will be
awarded a Master's Degree in Energy and Environmental Management and
Economics - MEDEA.

REQUIREMENTS

Admission is subject to the following requirements:

university degree in Italy, or an equivalent academic qualification
abroad, in departments of: Business Administration, Chemistry,
Economics, Engineering, Geology, Industrial Chemistry, International
Law, Physics and Statistics;

Italian candidates must be under the age of 28 years and non-Italian
candidates must be under the age of 32 at the beginning of the
Master course;

good knowledge of the English language.

The course, moreover, can be attended also by people autonomously
chosen by the Eni Companies.

APPLICATION AND SELECTIONS

The deadline for application is March 31, 2007 for foreign citizens
and April 30, 2007 for Italian citizens. Italian candidates will
attend the final selection in San Donato Milanese (MI); non-Italian
candidates in Algeri, Almaty, Ankara, Beijing, Brussels, Budapest,
Cairo, Lagos, London, Luanda, Madrid, Monaco, Moscow, New York, Sao
Paulo, Tripoli, or in other offices of Eni, depending on their

For successful candidates, the admission to and the enrolment in the
School carry no fees. The School offers students a financial

- advancing career opportunities in water management
Call for applications

The DHI Women’s Water Fund has been created as an initiative benefiting from
the “King Hassan II Great World Water Prize” presented to Prof. Torkil Jønch
Clausen of DHI at the Fourth World Water Forum in Mexico in 2006. The
objective of the DHI Women’s Water Fund is to support women in developing
countries in advancing their career opportunities in the development and
management of water resources.

The Fund’s career programme will draw upon transfer of Danish expertise in
water resources by offering capacity building visits to Denmark. The visits
will include a combined career learning and mentoring program of two to
four weeks duration. It is the intention that the Fund will contribute to a
longer duration contact and support to the selected candidates.

The capacity building visits include: i) participation in relevant short
courses/e-learning on water resources technologies and management at M.Sc.
or Ph.D. level; ii) learning visits at Danish organisations in the field of
water; and iii) a mentoring component that includes Senior Danish managers
as mentors for each candidate. The mentoring function is intended to be
continued for one year after the visit in Denmark as a long distance
learning and support relationship.

A Diploma and Letter of Recommendation will be issued by the Governing Board
of the Fund at the end of the visit to Denmark.

For the present 2007 Call three course options/study visits are available:

* A one week PhD Course in “Water resources Management”, 4-8 June 2007,
at the Danish Technical University – see Attachment 1. The study visit to
Denmark will be in the period 3-17 June 2007
* A four weeks Course in “Integrated Environment and Water Management”,
20 August – 14 September 2007, at DHI – see Attachment 2. The study visit
to Denmark will be in the period 19 August – 19 September 2007
* A 13 weeks E-learning Course in “Environmental Management in the
Tropics”, with one session per week in the period 5 September – 5 December
2007 – see Attachment 3. The first and the last week will be spent in
Denmark, the rest in the home country, i.e. study visits to Denmark will be
in the periods 2-9 September and 2-9 December 2007

Applicants are requested to indicate, in order of priority, their preference
for the above three options.

The present Call for 2007 is intended for women from developing countries in
Africa, Asia or Latin America who meet the following criteria:
• Professional background, at least at Master’s level
• Minimum 5-7 years of working experience
• Fluency in English
• Present employment in managerial or leadership positions in government,
private company or NGO

For the academic year 2007-2008, a maximum of 20 students will be
admitted to the program.

Admissions will be decided after a comparative evaluation of
candidates, as specified in the Bando di Concorso (published on the
Gazzetta Ufficiale della Repubblica Italiana n. 15 - 4° Serie speciale
concorsi ed esami, 20-2-2007); what follows is a summary of all
information relevant for application.

Applicants must hold an Italian "laurea magistrale" or "laurea
specialistica" , or a 4 years Italian laurea according to the
pre-reform system, or an equivalent 4-5 years foreign degree. There
are no limitations on the nationality of the candidates.

Candidates are required to apply using the following on-line procedure.
The deadline for application is 25 March 2007.
We accept applications from candidates who have not yet obtained their
degree by this deadline, provided that they obtain it before 30
September 2007.

In addition, the candidates are required to send:

* their curriculum, containing an academic record with the full
list of courses and grades;
* two letters of reference (in sealed envelopes) from two
academics, in which an evaluation is given (in comparative terms) of
the candidate's aptitudes to research, his/her competence, scientific
potential and maturity;
* a research project, not longer than 1000 words. Once admitted,
the candidate will not be constrained by the project presented;
however, the project is important to evaluate his/her aptitudes, as
well as the availability of potential supervisors in the candidate's
area of interest;
* (OPTIONAL) a short essay, not longer than 5000 words, on an
economic subject, which is the result of autonomous research by the
candidate.

Documentation can be either in Italian or in English, and it can be
posted or delivered directly by hand. Late comers cannot be

University reserves the right to exclude from the selection process at
any time candidates who do not meet the admission requirements.

The selection of candidates will be based on an evaluation of their
aptitude and competence to research. To this purpose, the examination
commission might ask some of the candidates to sit for a written exam
and an interview, to be held in Siena; in this case, the candidates
will be notified by email a couple of weeks before (however, the
University cannot be held responsible for failed communications due to
the candidate supplying late or incorrect information regarding
his/her address). The exams will be in Italian or in English.

A good knowledge of English is a prerequisite for admission.

Soon after the interviews are concluded, the list of successful
candidates will be made public on this website. In case of
renunciation, or in case a candidate is excluded because she/he fails
to submit the documents required for admission by 25 September 2007
(see below), the candidates who follow in the list will be admitted.
The 10 most qualified candidates among those admitted (as resulting
from the admission list) will be awarded a grant and will be exempted
from the payment of the annual fee (see Fees and financial support).
Enrolment

No later than 25 September 2007 the students admitted with or without
a scholarship must present the appropriate documents and forms (see
here) to the

Failure to present the above documents will result in exclusion of the
candidate from the school. All the documents must be submitted or sent
by mail and be received by 25 September 2007. Candidates admitted who
do not comply to the above provisions will be considered as renouncers.

Vacancies may be made available to the next candidates in the list who
must complete the enrolment within six days of receipt of the
communication e-mailed by the Ufficio Formazione e Post-Laurea. After
that time, the place will be offered to the following candidate.

Non EU candidates who are admitted and hold a foreign degree
(conferred at the end of a degree course lasting at least 4 years)
which has not yet been recognized by an Italian University as
equivalent to one of the Italian degrees required, must submit (along
with the enrolment form) the documents required for the Academic Board
to deliberate upon recognition of the degree for admission to the
school only. All documents (photocopy of the original diploma and
degree certificate with exams and grades) must be translated and
legalized by the competent Italian authorities abroad as well as
provided with an in loco declaration of value, in accordance with the
legislation in force on the admission of foreign students to Italian
University courses.

Non EU candidates who have passed the entrance examination will be
admitted to the courses as long as they have permits to enter and
reside in Italy and are legally residing in Italy (art. 39, par. 5,
Legislative Decree. 25.07.1998 no. 286 as modified by art. 26 Law
30.07.2002 no. 189); they must present a copy of their passport and a
valid temporary residence permit issued by the competent authorities
along with the enrolment form. Non EU citizens residing abroad must
present a copy of their passport, entrance visa and temporary
residence permit for study issued by the competent Questura (Police
headquarters) .

The Malaysian Technical Co-operation Programme (MTCP)
The Malaysian Technical Cooperation Programme (MTCP) was launched in 1980 to
promote and facilitate technical cooperation amongst developing countries based on the concept of self-reliance. The programme consolidates various forms of technical cooperation in areas where Malaysia has the experience and expertise. The Programme encourages the exchange of relevant experiences, pooling and sharing of resources and the development of complementary capabilities through:
q Provision of scholarship and study awards for studies at various institutions in Malaysia;
q Provision of training where participants are sponsored by third world countries/organizat ions;
q Study visits and practical attachments;
q Export of services and expertise in various fields

The MTCP implemented by The Centre for Foundation Studies and Extension Education (FOSEE), Multimedia University is based on the fact that the development of a country depends on the quality of its human resources. Such human resource quality can best be achieved through training. FOSEE under Multimedia University Melaka Campus is one of the many training institutions in Malaysia involved in this training.

Terms and Conditions of Scholarship/ Fellowship awards under the Malaysian Technical Co-operation Programme (MTCP)

1. General Conditions of Award:

Participants never participate in any MTCP or being awarded scholarship/ awards under the programme.
Participants shall conduct themselves at all times in a manner compatible with their responsibilities as MTCP scholarship holders and abide by the laws, rules and regulations of the land and FOSEE, MMU. This scholarship can not be held concurrently with any other scholarship award.
For lectures, participants are required to dress in long-sleeved shirts with ties, tailored pant and blazer or uniform. For formal occasions – suit, national costume or batiks. Ladies should be appropriately dressed in office attire.
Participants shall follow the programme approved for them. Request for change of programme will not be entertained. Participants should participate in all activities related to the programme.
Participants are not allowed to participate in any political and/or commercial activities in any capacity whatsoever. Participants shall not take up paid employment during the tenure of their scholarship or serve on the staff of their Official Representatives in Malaysia.
· Participants are NOT allowed to bring along their spouses or families for the duration of the course. Participants will be required to return to their own countries upon completion of the course or at the end of the tenure of the scholarship whichever is earlier.
· The award may be terminated at any time for the reasons of unsatisfactory conduct, breaches of the conditions of the award, or failure to make satisfactory progress.

2. Travel Documents and Vaccination:
Persons seeking to enter Malaysia must be in possession of valid passports or other internationally recognized travel documents endorsed for travel to Malaysia. Such passports or other travel documents must be valid for at least 6 months beyond the period of stay allowed in Malaysia. In the case of a national passport not recognized by Malaysia, the holder must be in possession of a document in lieu of a passport obtained at the nearest Malaysian Mission abroad.
Travelers from certain countries are required to produce the Yellow Fever Vaccination Certificate and other health certificates at the entry point in Malaysia..

3. Terms and Condition Covered by the MTCP for International Participants:
3.1. Fares
A return air ticket on economy class is provided. This is from the capital city of the recipient country to Kuala Lumpur and back. Expenditures such as Visa and transit fees, excess baggage fees are borne by the recipients.
3.2. Maintenance Allowance
Full board and accommodation
Daily subsistence allowance will be given if food and accommodation are not made available, especially during attachment or study-tour, other similar arrangements will be made.
3.3. Tuition Fees
Tuition fees will be borne by the Malaysian Government under the MTCP.
3.4. Medical Treatment
Expenses for medical treatment in government hospitals/clinics will be borne by the Government of Malaysia if participants fell sick during the course. PhD Modelling the environmental and ecological drivers of disease emergence

Amphibian chytridiomycosis, caused by the fungus Batrachochytrium
dendrobatidis (Bd), is now known to be one of the most potent threats to
biodiversity yet discovered. This project will work with a NERC-funded team
at Imperial College and the Zoological Society of London to analyse the
dynamics of disease transmission within Europe by developing epidemiological
models of the chytrid and its amphibian hosts.

The student will belong to the Graduate School of Life Sciences and Medicine
which provides a full programme of training in research and transferable

In order to pursue its objective to improve Indonesian human resources, the Embassy of France will offer scholarships for the year 2006. General description of the Master/PhD programme:

Profile of the candidate:
The optimal profile for the position would be a recent graduate on electronic engineering or chemistry or physics (chemistry, chemical engineering, analytical chemistry, biochemical engineering, electronic engineering, physics, etc.) willing to obtain his/her European Ph.D. degree in four years. The candidate should be able to economically sustain him/herself with the grant with no additional funding (something easy to do in Spain
